The Maltron dual hand Flat "Finger Length Adapted", or "2D" keyboard is a good compromise between the benefits of our fully ergonomic "3D" keyboards, and a conventional flat keyboard.
Over 3,000 keyboard users have now successfully used a Maltron two-handed fully-ergonomic "3D" keyboard to recover from keyboard induced pain, but a handful of sufferers have declared that the radical 3D Maltron design is just too "unfriendly looking".
The new Maltron Flat keyboard responds to this view, and incorporates the essential features of the 3D design but in a more conventional shape.
Two key groups for letters with a central number group, as with the 3D keyboards, keep wrists straight and strain free. Central numbers suit both left & right handers. The letter keys are angled inwards to match natural finger movements and, as in the 3D two-handed design, the keys for the longer fingers are further away to reduce finger motion and provide small therapeutic actions.
Large palm pad areas give a comfortable resting and relaxing zone for hands and arms during “thinking time”, to encourage blood flow and recovery.
The result is all the familiarity of a standard keyboard, but with outstanding ergonomic comfort!
Both PC and Apple Mac usage options are always available and this is selected by a mode switch on the underside of the keyboard. However, please note that this keyboard has a PC key layout.
