Whilst
most of us are familiar with the standard "cut"
"copy" and "paste" keyboard shortcuts there
are often many more available in specific applications and for
the operating system that can prove useful not only for speed but
also for reducing one's dependence on the mouse or trackball.
Many
of these can be found by opening the application and looking at
the menus to see what shortcuts are available. Not all keyboard
shortcuts will be documented directly from these menus though, so
searching on the keywords "keyboard shortcuts" in the
operating system or application's HELP menu can turn up more
complete lists.
Here
are a few common shortcuts to get you going:
