Introducing the numbers

Learning to key the nmbers on the MALTRON single handed keyboard is very easy. This is because they run in a sequence on two rows, one above the other. There is no need to use a shift key for numbers.

Plase your little finger on the 5 and let the other fingers rest on the 4, 3 and 2. Stretch the index finger from 2 to 1 and back again. On the row above, the little finger is used on 0. The other fingers rest on 9, 8, 7 and the index finger stretches to the 6.

These exercises below help your fingers to get to know where they should go for numbers. If you always use the correct fingers, you'll soon be able to key numbers by touch as easily as the letters.

Key each row three times, be very careful to use the correct finger for each number:
