Dear Maltron User,
Maltron Layout Training - 89 Series Keyboards
Instructions for working through the exercises.
Posture and Preparation for Keying
Posture is the way that you sit when keying. Be sure that you are comfortably seated, with good back support. To start you should have your feet flat on the ground, with your shins at right angles to your feet, your knees at right angles and your hip joints and elbows at right angles.
You should be able to read the screen without moving your head sideways or up and down. In some studies it has been found that incorrect posture causes as much as a third of all keying errors!

Correct posture sitting upright
To prevent static strain and sustain good circulation it is necessary to move around - taking small rests and sometimes changing posture ( no part of the body is designed to be perfectly still for hours on end). However you should aim to maintain the correct posture most of the time. Your office or home furniture should be adjusted to be comfortable and make the correct posture easy to achieve.
You should not look at the keyboard while you are doing the exercises because watching your hands keying will add to the work of your neck and shoulders as you look from the screen to the keyboard. It also causes you to learn that keying follows looking which introduces a delay and prevents the rapid keying sequences of common words from developing.
